Non-return flap valve

A non-return flap valve is used to safeguard against backflow of water. The flap valve is designed to only allow water to pass through it in one direction. Non-return flap valves are used to protect against dammed up water during periods with high water levels or to safeguard against the backflow of water.

The flap valves can be used both for rainwater and sewage systems, for example in pumping stations. A non-return flap valve does not require a lot of maintenance but should be inspected regularly to remove any dirt and grime that may have attached to the valve, preventing it from shutting.
