Since the latest newsletter, Denmark has been hit by several cloudburst events, the most recent in the most northern part of Jutland, which experienced more than 148 mm of rain over one and a half days. In addition to flooded houses, several important roads were damaged and had to be closed, and trains had to be cancelled.
Further in the lastest newsletter, we promised to present more information about the four projects in the partnership VANDPLUS (combining rainwater and urban development). VANDPLUS is a partnership between the Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities and the private philanthropic organisation, Realdania, in collaboration with the Danish Ministry of the Environment. Together they have awarded DKK 12 million to four projects that demonstrate how climate adaptation is more than just underground sewage, and has much more potential when elevated to the surface.
