The Danish Coastal Authority is launching a new coastal planning tool aimed at Danish coastal municipalities

Based on new national risk mapping, the Danish Coastal Authority is now making new analyses and strategies available for use in coastal planning efforts. "Kystplanlægger" is a coastal planning tool targeted at coastal municipalities but available for everyone.

The entire Danish coastline has been risk-mapped up to 2120, and the risk map is included as part of a website, which also has a GIS function: www.Kystplanlægger.dk.

In addition to flood risk, the new map now also includes erosion risk. Furthermore, there are recommendations for risk management strategies and proposals for holistic coastal protection along selected coastlines.
