Mobile dams

Mobile dams can be more effective, more easy to manage and quicker to prepare than sand bags. Several technologies are available. Some of these are designed as long pipes filled with water or air. Other mobile dam solutions are laid out on the ground and will "spring up" when the water comes into contact with them. Mobile dams come in several different heights. If water levels are high, it may be necessary to fortify the dams from behind and to have pumps and bags ready behind the dam, Mobile dams can also be designed as a type of modular fence to supplement kerbs along roads in order to create an emergency flood channel that can lead the water away, e.g. into the harbour.
