Combined 1D drainage model with 2D surface model (1D-2D)

A combined model for runoff/drainage, surface water, groundwater and sea level provides a tool to accurately describe the dynamics at play during increased groundwater and sea levels, as well as the implications of extreme rainfall. 

The model can be a coupling of various numerical models (e.g. MIKE URBAN and MIKE SHE). Changes to the water table can lead to e.g. greater groundwater flow to watercourses and sewer systems, increasing the risk of overflow and flooding in connection with even minor precipitation events.
